Niko the German Shepherd from Oakland had a great time at DogAnswers Ranch. He is a lot different away from his owners-- no aggression, over-protectivenes, jumping on others or the crazy manipulative whining.  Kix the small dog made it real clear that he is the dominant one and will do the protecting should that become necessary.

The other dogs liked Niko and he was very gentle with Pedro the Chihuahua and the kitties. Niko learned Sit, Down, Sit-Stay, Down-Stay and Heel with his paws behind the trainers feet and never tries to forge ahead anymore.

It was a crisp morning and all the almond trees are blooming.  The pack got up early and went on their group walk around the ranch.

The colors were so bright that it was eerily ethereal. Everything appeared almost too beautiful like a dream sequence from a movie. 

Niko is being a really good boy and doesn't need a leash to walk and maintains "Heel" with voice only now.  He is listening well and shows a surprising amount of respect when his handler tells him "No."  Niko acts like heeling off-leash is his job and he is proud of himself because he is really good at it.  Niko is also great at "Return-to-Heel" off-leash and loves that command as well.

Niko's all-time favorite command is "Leave It."  "Leave It" is the game he and the trainer play where he doesn't nudge the trainer's hands with his snout when he touches Niko's face and collar area.  Niko gets bonus points for not submissively urinating and whining anymore too.
