Most people with puppies wait until their dog is close to a year old to call the dog trainer--after habits have been ingrained in the dog's mind for months and months. They could have got an adult dog, but wanted a puppy, which is basically a clean slate.

We start puppies as soon as the people bring it home to make sure no bad habits and behavior develop. The puppy can learn potty training, not to jump on people, not to bite, whine, scratch, bark and destructive chew. The most important thing people with puppies need to learn is how not to make mistakes that can make the overall training much more difficult, and in some cases nearly impossible. You only have one chance to do it right with your puppy. With us, it doesn't cost any more to start your puppy as soon as you get it.

Training your puppy right from the start is critical if you want to have the best dog ever. Older dogs can be trained to a high level too, but it is not the same as doing everything right from the start.

Chanel, Archie and Kix had been labeled "aggressive and untrainable" by veterinarians, behaviorists and seasoned dog trainers.

Chanel used to attack people and try to bite them. She broke her owners hand. A local dog trainer recommended that the owner come pick up Chanel immediately from their facility and euthanize her. Chanel's owners had to fight to get their money back from the trainer and were stuck with their dog 500 miles away from their home in Palm Springs.

Archie used to bite the owner if she went to kick him off the bed. DaveTheDogTrainer told her to keep him on a leash. Archie is smarter than DaveTheDogTrainer and then bit the lady if she tried to grab the leash. Archie has been living with Dave for several years now. Archie doesn't need a leash anymore and is a great dog.

Kix viciously attacked and bit a lady and her daughter. They tried kicking him off and he wouldn't quit attacking and biting them. He has shown absolutely no aggression since he was taken out of his previous home. Kix is DaveTheDogTrainer's most reliable dog off-leash. He can be heeled through a Home Depot or the mall off-leash.

Over 80% of the people who call us have dogs who are either being aggressive by jumping on people, being pushy, biting, barking, and/or act menacing toward dogs and people. The dog training, all the money you spend on your dog, and your time and effort will be out the window if you can't keep your dog. "Sit" doesn't make a dog good.
